Solid Wood Processing
Four side moulders
Four-sided planer moulders machine all four longitudinal surfaces of a solid wood workpiece in a single pass. They produce parts with the required cross-section, including door and window components, frames and mouldings. Depending on the tooling fitted and the machine configuration, they can produce flat surfaces or profiles.
The term “four-sided” refers to the surfaces being machined, not the number of spindles. The spindle positions and their sequence, together with the tooling used, determine the operations available. Additional spindles can perform successive operations on the same face to suit the required profile and finish.
When selecting a machine, we consider working width and height, minimum workpiece length, spindle configuration and feed speed. We also check adjustment options, access for tool changes and dust extraction requirements.
We specify the configuration based on the cross-sections and profiles you produce, the condition of the incoming material, the required finish and daily production volume.
Delivery, installation, commissioning and operator training are agreed as part of each project, together with the terms of technical support after installation.
