About this machine
The Fimal PF 530 A is a hand-fed surface planer for solid wood. The operator first planes one face flat, then holds that face against the fence to straighten an edge at the required angle.
The infeed table is adjusted by motor, and its position is shown on an electronic readout. The parallelogram linkage keeps the gap between the table lip and the cutterblock constant as the table moves, and the tables stay parallel to the cutterblock. The anodised aluminium fence tilts, has stops at the reference angles and moves on a recirculating ball bushing and wheels, with quick locking. A magnetic knife-setting gauge is supplied with the machine.
The CE version includes an electromagnetic brake, a dust extraction hood and a bridge guard over the cutterblock. Options include automatic infeed table positioning, pneumatic fence locking, an auxiliary fence for narrow, low-profile workpieces, a cutterblock with Tersa-type knives, a higher-power motor, a SUVA-type cutterblock guard and motor overload protection. A mortising attachment and a Wescott chuck are also available as separate options.
