About this machine
The HELEX HE 500 R is a single-blade straight-line rip saw with powered feed for ripping solid wood to width. It can edge rough-sawn or planed boards, remove wane and rip strips for glued panels. Other applications include preparing blanks for doors, windows, stairs and furniture.
The welded steel frame supports the saw spindle, feed drive and upper hold-down beam. The main motor drives the blade through a belt. The operator adjusts the height of the saw unit by handwheel. The feed system has its own motor, and the feed speed can be adjusted electrically during operation to suit the timber species, workpiece thickness and blade. The upper beam holds the workpiece down while the side pressure units keep it against the rip fence.
The rip fence has a ground guide face, a graduated scale and fine adjustment. It locks in position for repeat cuts at the same width. The table has an insert around the blade and extensions to support long boards. The machine has anti-kickback fingers at the infeed, an enclosed cutting area, centralised lubrication and a dust extraction connection below the table. The feed speed selector and emergency stop button are on the front control panel.
