About this machine
The HELEX HE 65 M is an automatic edge banding machine for straight edges on chipboard and MDF panels in series furniture production. It processes melamine-faced chipboard, MDF, HDF, plywood and blockboard, with PVC, ABS, PMMA, melamine or veneer edging supplied in coils or pre-cut strips. Typical users are furniture factories, door and interior joinery workshops and panel cut-to-size centres.
The edging is fed automatically from the magazine. Two counter-rotating cutters pre-mill the workpiece edge, and a release agent protects the panel faces. A lamp pre-heats the edge before EVA hot-melt adhesive is applied from a thermostatically controlled glue pot. A driven roller and pneumatically loaded rollers press the edging along the whole edge. Saw units on a tracking carriage trim the front and rear ends of the edging. Rough trimming removes the surplus, and fine trimming produces a flat or radius profile. The corner rounding unit rounds the edging at the panel corners. Profile and flat scrapers level the glue line, a cleaning agent is applied, and buffing wheels finish the edge.
Each working group is switched on or off from the touchscreen, which also shows the piece and length counters. The feed speed is selected electrically in preset steps. The upper pressure beam is set to the workpiece thickness using a digital position display. Pneumatic regulators with gauges set the working pressure of the individual groups. The machine comes with a complete tooling set.
