About this machine
The CU 400 universal combination machine combines surface planing, thicknessing, mortising, circular sawing and spindle moulding on a single base. It suits joinery workshops with limited floor space that make one-off pieces or small batches of solid wood furniture. The machine processes solid softwood and hardwood, and the circular saw also cuts wood-based panels.
For surface planing, the operator guides the workpiece across the surfacing tables and over the cutterblock. During thicknessing, the machine feeds the workpiece automatically. The mortising unit has a chuck and a table with longitudinal, transverse and vertical travel.
The circular saw and spindle moulder share a worktable. The saw has a sliding table, a scoring unit and a tilt adjustment for the main blade. The vertical spindle operates at several selectable speeds. Options include longer sliding tables, a helical cutterblock with replaceable inserts, and devices for contour moulding and tenoning.
